iPad Purchase Decision

Apple’s worst kept secret has finally landed in stores as of yesterday. The iPad, supposedly the one device to single handedly change how we view a “tablet” device. Apple is known to REVOLUTIONIZE the way we correlate with our “i” devices, so can this glossy slab Apple released do the same?

Aside from that question, heres something that I would be interested in if I were to grab an iPad sometime down the road. Google implementation of their products will surely have me interested. Something along the lines of a tweaked gmail script for Safari on the iPad would be wonderful and much more useful than the lackluster Mail app for the iphone/ipod/iPad. Having the ability to have Google Documents on the iPad will further my decision to purchase one.

We already know that Apple has decided to not support Adobe Flash for their mobile products such as the iPad. Google has apps that will allow the “Flash-less” devices to view Youtube, and the iPad will soon have YoutubeHD.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could dock our iPads into our cars, have it replace the GPS, the stereo and also have it run concerts and music videos? Thats something that I would love to see happen in the future. I dont have a dvd deck or anything like that, but being able to dock the giant 10in screen on my dash or console would be amazing.

The only thing stopping me from buying the glossy slab is Apple’s decision to use “micro sim” vs the regular sim. ATT in the great land of America have announced plans to sell micro sims to the mass public for use on the iPhone. Canada ain’t so lucky, i havent heard anyone talk about releasing micro sims or anything along the lines of new sim cards. I do hope it will be true, because I have 6gb of data to rape, it doesnt do justice on my blackberry, I might as well pop it in the iPad and surf net like crazy.

As it stands, I will NOT be buying an iPad. I just dont see the use for myself. I do all the email, twittering and messaging on the Blackberry. The only reason I would buy the iPad is for docking it in the car and to somehow be able to use all that data I currently have.
